Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)

Director: Ron Scalpello
Producer: James Howland

Info
Pendulum could be discribed as a band. They do play instruments aswell as electronic equipment. Pendulum did a remix on Voodoo People.
In the videoclip, a bunch of all sorts of people run blind-folded through the streets, hills and woods to win a price. Ofcourse many fall and injure themselves when they try to run the fastest towards Pendulum. Meanwhile Keith Flint is making recordings of this with his mobile and Liam Howlett is looking on his mobile to watch the show from a distance.

Spitfire
Director: Tim Qualtrough
Producer: -

Info
This dark and fast, flashing videoclip, was inspired by the other video's made by Tim Qualtrough of of Image Dynamic pictures. Like Muse's videoclip: 'Butterflies and Hurricanes'.
The video features only Keith, Maxim, Liam and some live shots. None of the other bandmembers are seen on this video. The live shots are actually from the Dublin 2004 gig(s) in decenber.
Liam was very pleased with the result.
"I have just seen a ruff cut of the spitfire video and I can tell u it is nothing short of full on! It is in my top 4 videos we have done."

Hotride (rejected version)
Director: Daniel levi
Producer: -

Info
This hotride videoclip has never been an official videoclip of their newest album because Liam rejected it.
Liam Howlett: "I thought the song deserved a more intelligent video and not one that was shocking 4 the sake of it. We already made the best ever video like that with smbu. Nothing wrong with violence as long as there is a point."

Baby's Got A Temper
Director: Traktor
Producer: -

Info
The video, which features the band playing live onstage, in front of an audience of cows, has been screened by MTV2 non-stop. Based on a dream Liam had about playing live in front of a herd of cattle, the video was filmed in Prague (Chzech Republic) and directed by Traktor.
Speaking to NME.COM, Prodigy's Liam Howlett explained that the video (for new single 'Baby's Got A Temper') had come to him "in a dream", adding: "We built a funfair in the grounds of this power station (in Prague, where the video was shot) and we had an arena of cows and three guys go to work as the band and play to these cows, who generate milk. No-one's allowed in this arena with the cows, the cows are milked and the milk's passed out through a gap to the people." In exchange, the people in the video hand over money and jewellery. "'Cos the milk is like their fucking buzz, y'know, it's like a drug reference I guess," said Howlett. "This one will be memorable. This is a good video."

Smack My Bitch Up
Director: Jonas Åckerlund
Producer: -

Info
You can't have a controversial single without a similarly controversial video, and this one certainly fits the bill. The video has been banned in just about every country you care to mention. It has been put on low rotation, late at night, and it is easy to see why. The video is shot entirely from the perspective of a woman. Many people may think that it's shot from the perspective of a man, but at the end you can see the reflection of her in a mirror.
None of the band members will be appearing in the video, which was shot in the "Base Club" in London's West End. When the Prodigy first saw this video they really hate it! But couple of weeks later when they had talked with they label (XL) they really wanted to release it! It has been banned from terrestrial TV in Britain and many other TV stations have banned the video almost everywhere in the world.

Breathe
Director: Walter Stern
Producer: -

Info
It is set in a slum-like apartment, which, from the cockroaches in the sink, spiders on the ceiling and crocodile under the bed, is probably student accomodation. The vocalists (Keith and Maxim) are featured most in the video, with Leeroy only appearing a few times very briefly. Maxim is covered in black body-paint in swirlingpatterns and wears combat trousers. Keith, with one side of his hair dyed green and the other purple, around  the flat after Maxim while occasionally picking fights with the walls. Liam appears in bed, wondering what a  clone of himself is doing in the same room, and why that ugly reptile is under his bed. The camera pans around the flat, showing sinks throwing up strange-coloured water and insects. This video was also 1997 MTV Europe Video Music Awards International Viewer's Choice Winner.

Firestarter
Director: Walter Stern
Producer: -

Info
The scene is an abandoned London subway. The main focus of attention is on Keith, who runs around with an angle grinder trying to wreck the train tracks, while the rest of the band look on in approval. After this we see Keith hanging on to his life by a few bicycle tubes in a lift shaft, 60 feet off the ground. When you watch the video you can actually see Leeroy hurling towards the TV screen swaying around. The reason is that he got drunk whilst recording the set for Firestarter because he had nothing to do except drink in the bar. The video caused big uproar in the UK. Questions in the House of Commons, bad pressand a record number of complaints to 'Top of the Pops' for showing the video. When the video for Firestarter was aired on 'Top of the Pops' for the first time, the BBC received more complaints than they had received for any other act. 'Top of the Pops' actually asked the band to remake the video, offering to pay the expenses, but were t old quit bluntly to "f*** off". Great stuff. Interestingly enough, there are two videos for Firestarter. The original one was directed by the bloke who made the Levi's Jeans advertisement. But it turned out to be a real modern arty type video and the band were hardly in it so they scrapped it.

Poison
Director: Walter Stern
Producer: John Payne

Info
The video was shot in a dark, dank, mud-infested underground room. The video shows Maxim, complete with shades and cat's eyes, on the microphone screaming to the song, while Liam is on drums in the background. Leeroy stands around looking cool, while Keith jumps around in an effort to start a fight with someone. Eventually, Liam gets pissed off with him (because Keith breaks his drums) and jumps over the drum kit and starts to stab Keith in the chest with the branch from a tree or something. Loads of bluegunge starts spewing out of Keith's mouth. In the Music Television versions all this harmless satanic fun is censored. But as you know that they always will censor little things like that. This video also features some cool trainspotter subtle effects.. if you look carefully in one bit of the video you can see that Keith has two heads and the cymbat on Liam's drums start to bend. You can also spot some other cool effects in the video.

Voodoo People
Director: Walter Stern
Producer: Russel Curtise

Info
The video was a high budget job, shot on location on the exotic Caribbean volcanic island called Saint Lucia. It's part of the Windward Islands group of the Lesser Antilles. It's area is about 616 square kilometres, and its population is about 150.000. Liam, Maxim and Keith are all beingpursued by Leeroy, who is a voodoo witch doctor. The video contained some real scenes of voodoo witch craft which had to be researched carefully due to the sensitive nature of the occult (Papa Doc Duvalier might come after them). Again, the 'scenes of distress' (it was only some ritualistic torture) had to be cut in order for the video to be shown on the television. There are about 3 or 4 different versions. One is the original which is on Electronic Punks. The others are different editions and there is also a Chemical/Dust Brothers version of the video!

No Good (Start The Dance)
Director: Walter Stern
Producer: John Payne

Info
The video was shot in a disused underground warehouse, where a small party is taking place. The band split up and go about their own thing, doing whatever suits them best. Keith builds himself up into a frenzy, and is carted off in a straightjacket, and then locked in a glass box full of some very strange smoke created by a brown sticky substance. (This scene has been removed in some versions). Leeroy heads off into a room on his own and starts a dance frenzy and Liam smashes up a brick wall with a sledgehammer, while Maxim, complete with evil-looking green eyes, sits back and observes the proceedings. No Good was shot at Fabric, in London a club where Liam Howlett returned twice as guest Deejay.

Info
This is a sequence of 3D computer graphics routines with the usual feast of rotations, texture-mapping and rendering, all running very smoothly on a monster of a computer! Anyway, enough of the technical stuff. There is not much to the video at all, and you only get to see a few quick shots of the band dancing alongside some tribal 3D characters, but it least it marked a change from the rave videos that preceded it.

Wind It Up
Director: Russel Curtis
Producer: Emma Davis

Info
This became the last one of the typical fast moving dance videos for the Prodigy. It was shot on location in Los Angeles, USA during two days of the band's American tour. The scene is switched from the streets of LA to Venice Beach and Death Valley. For the shoot, the band just drove around LA and stopped off when they saw something that would look good in the video. These stops ranged from Keith attacking a christmas tree to him standing on rocks at the beach while waves break over his back! That was a pretty dangerous shot indeed. For some reason people think he's only been mad since he got that haircut...

Info
Ostriches provided an unusual addition to the band's 3rd video! Liam came up with the idea of having these in the video after a close encounter he had with an ostrich which escaped from a bird sancutary: he was driving home with a load of mates from a big outdoor party, and he seen this large bird in the distance. When he stopped the car to take a look, the bird came over to the car and poked it's nose in the window for a minute. Not finding any food in the car, the bird then headed off into the darkness. As well as the ostriches, the video contains the usual snappy dance shots of the band at live events and playing around Leeroy's car. Keith dresses up as a typical archetypal raver, complete with overalls, vick's and facemask. For some weird reason, 'Altern-8' took this as an insult to their usual dress, and dressed themselves up as The Prodigy for their next video!

Fire
Director: Russel Curtis
Producer: Emma Davis

Info
There was a Fire video, but it was a very low budget job. It featured computer animation of a fiery satanic head in flames as a car with members of the band flew into it's mouth. Parts of the video were supposed to be set around a mountainside campfire in Wales September 1992, with the camera zooming into the headsof each member of the band, and viewing their thoughts. There was of course the ultra-rapid dancin that is missing from the more recent videos. In that time Liam was very angry for magazine called Mix Mag. In the end of the video Liam walks near a bonfire. Then he takes a copy of Mix Mag from his pocket. On the cover is a picture of himself pointing gun to his head. He throws the magazine into the flames, and remains by the fire making sure sure all the pages are burnt. The reason was an article that appeared in the August issue of Mix Mag entitled "Has Charly killed the rave party?", which with some pungent remarks denounced the whole crebility of the Prodigy. The music in the video was from Fire (Edit), not Fire (Sunrise Version). The video wasn't put on the Electonic Punks tape because of it's poor quality.

Everybody In The Place
Director: Russel Curtis
Producer: Claire Ruson

Info
The video is set in the streets of New York in the USA. The band were almost going to shoot the video inside asemi-demolished building, but it were turned down because of safety reasons. Nonetheless, the video was a typical dance video which suited their image well at the time. It consists of fast, colourful shots of the band dancing around New York like lunatics, and being chased around by the police in the end.

Charly
Director: Russel Curtis
Producer: Jill Numford

Info
The first prodigy video appearance is a typical old rave video. A sequence of fast moving, colourful shots of the band at a live events, the video contains clips from the "Charly says..." series of public information films, that were made in the 1970s, and aired during ITV commercial breaks You can see a girl dancing on the stage with Keith, Maxim and Leeroy. Some would say she is Sharky, the only female member, but she is not.
