Solo Project Maxim
|
Maxim Reality
The MC of The Prodigy, has released some work of his own.
In '96 he released a quite unknown White Label under the name 'Grim Reaper'.
In '98 his work under his own name, 'Maxim', appeared on two promotional compilations.
Finally, in August '99, his first commercial release saw the light of day as My Web was released.
After that came the more straight-forward 'Carmen Queasy' where Maxim gets vocal aid from Skin of Skunk Anansie, 'Scheming' was the follow up.
Finally Maxim's album 'Hell's Kitchen' was released 2 October 2000.
Pre-announced with his release of the single 'Suvivor' in 2004, Maxim finishes his latest album 'Fallen Angel' in May 2005. |

Lyrics
Execute my delivery
Face to face with my enemy
I launch a dozen granates
Better be afraid
Selled by the nation
Im the United States of minds
All you wanna do is take from me
Take from me, give to you!
All you wanna do is eat trough me
Eat from me, but i'll eat trough you!
Im surviving me!
Im surviving you!
Im surviving me!
Im surviving you, and the things you do!
Who caughts the shots
Who's got the pistol
Im loaded, sugarcoded pills can i get a fist full
Hope the pain is real, how you feel?
Behaviour by the ..........
All you wanna do is take from me
Take from me, give to you
All you wanna do is eat trough me
Eat trough me, but i'll eat trough you!
Im surviving me!
Im surviving you!
Ah pain
Yes i'm a survivor!
Ah pain
Yes i'm a survivor!
I see your tentions
Murderous intentions
Trash back slash mental shackles
You hold the title for abuse,
don't even try to cut me loose
You battle lives inside your own head
All you wanna do is take from me
Take from me, give to you!
All you wanna do is eat trough me
Eat trough me, but i'll eat trough you!
Im surviving me!
Im surviving you!
Im surviving me!
Im surviving you and the things you do!
Im surviving me
That's what we do do!
Im surviving you, im a survivor
Im surviving me
That's what we do do!
Im surviving you, im a survivor

Info
'Scheming' was originally a hip hop based song which
had Guru on the vocals but when Liam Howlett heard
the tune he changed it into experimental UK garage
song. The guitar was played by Jim Davies, Prodigy's
live guitarist.
Lyrics
Stopping with your scheming, baby
Start stopping with your scheming, baby (6x repeat)
You've been scheming
You've been playing behind my back
You'll get to discover how I'm about to act
You've been scheming
You've been messing around
You've made my heart as cold as ice
All your lies and your scheming scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
With all your lies and your scheming you've
been scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
Stopping with your scheming, baby
Start stopping with your scheming, baby (2x repeat)
You have been scheming
You've been playing behind my back
You'll get to discover how I'm about to act
You've been messing around and it ain't
about to take
You've made my heart as cold as ice
All your lies and your scheming scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
With all your lies and your scheming you've been
scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
Stopping with your scheming, baby
Start stopping with your scheming, baby (4x repeat)
Hey, yeah, yeah
All your lies lies and your scheming scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
With all your lies and your scheming scheming, scheming,
scheming
I've heard it all before a thousand times
You've been scheming
You've made my heart as cold as ice
Stopping with your scheming, baby

Info
Kieron Pepper
supplied some of the guitars used. He toured with
The Prodigy as a live drummer during the FOTL tours.
Features a guitar-sample taken from "House
of the Rising sun" by The Animals. Just like
the first single "My Web EP" which also
featured a "Animals" sample.
Maxim: "Skin came up with
the actual lyrics, I wrote the music, and fitted
my bits on - I put my growls on in the little spaces,
and constructed the song, changed the chorus a bit."
"It’s about a female called Carmen Queasy
who would do anything to make it in the music industry.
I look at it in a different way as well - someone
being calm and remaining a bit queasy, for instance
doing this interview. Your boss is telling you to
do it and you say "OK" and remain calm
and do it, but you're not sure cause it’s
not the right mood for you to do it. So that’s
not just the music industry."
Lyrics
My vision is distorted by my sleazy mind
To picturesque an image to control this time
My intimate discriminating fears you test
My ignorance that truely feels it knows me best
You have the power but you keep it all to yourself
Your lust is decomposing us
The intricate sincerity is choking me
Its crumbling and crawling all around my feet
It wasn't jump from lie to lie to cover me
But could a bullet tell her just evading me
You have the power but you keep it all to yourself
Your lust is decomposing us
So now your telling me its all damn easy
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
'Cos money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
I don't want to be a marketed baby
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
'Cos money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
Carmen Queasy, I don't wanna be
("Don't wanna be" echoing 4 times)
I'm flinging out some rhythms in a cultural
scare Suffocating, still frustrating like we care
Dissecting all who analyse and empty heart
Just spiting out some more with dreams of
calling it art
You have the vision but you keep it all to yourself
Your lust is decomposing us
So now your telling me its all damn easy
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
'Cos money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
But I don't wanna be a marketed baby
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
'Cos money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
Money making, money taking
We don't have a choice
But we still have a voise
Antagonists, life is too short
Twist deform and distort
And bring their brains into my ceminar
Where there making music making failure
Gotta take back whats mine (gotta take back)
Keep chocking and holding, provoking
My life style you be smoking
So now you're telling me it's so damn easy
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
Coz money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
I don't want to be a marketed baby
Try to see yourself as carmen queasy
Coz money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing
Money making is a wonderful thing

Not really a promo release, the reason it was called
promo, was that it was released earlier in Japan
